Prop Eight

Prop Eight. I could rant about this for days. Instead, I'll let Keith Olbermann take care of it for me. Enjoy.

Try actually LIVING here in CA and having to deal with the idiots that voted yes.

Solano County, the county I live in, had the highest percentage of YES voters. So embarrassing and disappointing.

Fortunately, there have been crazy rallies and protests, and people are being very outspoken about the whole thing.

If I lived in CA I would be SO UPSET about it, especially those crazy Solano-ans. I'm glad to hear that people are being vocal about it though. There was a huge rally here this weeked, which I unfortunately worked through, but I heard it was very successful.

There have been crazy rallies and protests and frankly I think they have gotten a little out of hand. I think it's totally and COMPLETELY wrong to deface any building whether it be a church, bank, what have you. It's just wrong! I know that both sides have done hateful and hurtful things to one another and it's disturbing but someone has to be the bigger person and put an end to all the violence. Any 2 year old can throw a fit but it takes a level headed adult to solve a problem. I'm not even going to touch the issue that is the center of all this because I refuse to argue about it. It's just wrong that both sides are being so nasty to one another.

I totally understand what you are saying- both sides need to be civil about things. But on this issue, I firmly believe that same-sex couples should have the same right to marry that everyone else enjoys. End of story. I don't even understand the other side of the debate. But regardless, both sides need to respect each other; you are right. However, I do think that the rallies are a good thing. I was sad to miss the one in DC this last Saturday, although I did have some friends who went.

On another note - your blog is restricted! Will you invite me? I hate to miss out on your weekly recipes!

Love you!

One day we will live in a world where Bryce and Kelly can get married, until then they will have to keep their love secret.

I'm torn about the whole gay marriage thing. It's not like gay people are asking for everyone to be okay with them wanting to be married. I just don't know.

I think it's stupid and hypocritical that people will vote in for gays to have the same rights as everyone else but then deny them marriage. I think you are either all for gay rights or all against them. You can't be both.

I don't agree with a persons decision to be gay but I still think they are wonderful people. I just don't know anymore how I feel about the whole thing.

Yeah I see what you are saying. What I don't understand is, regardless of whether a person thinks that homosuxality is a choice, predisposition, or is biologically determined, how exactly does two men or two women getting married has any impact whatsoever on anyone else? Really, what's the big deal?

And the issue is so polarizing that both sides have, as you pointed out, engaged in some dirty tactics. It is all too, too crazy. And then I see people talking about boycotting Salt Lake over it, and a bunch of Mormon church bashing going on, and it all just makes me sad.
